Gea-Creatures

"I made eight Gea-Creatures for a group show in a trendy part of Beijing, China in 2017. The gallery owners approved the sketches (there is still some debate) and everything was cool. Then it wasn't. Long story short, I made it to China. These paintings didn't. Now, reproductions of them are for sale here, as very Limited Edition prints. I hope you like them" ~Gholme

Oil Pastel Series

Oil Pastels are actually oil paint, in a solid chalk form. In many ways, oil pastels are applied like paint, using the same way of seeing, knocking in colour areas, and thinking about the edges and the surface. But of course, without using a brush.

But because it is oil paint in a solid form, not iquid, drying time is not an issue. Layering, under-painting, viscosity and pigment build-up are similar to oil paint, but because there is no drying involved, oil pastels need to be framed, behind glass.

However as Limited-Edition canvas prints, frames are not needed, and the canvas can be stretched on a wooden stretcher strips.
